Most teachers are based in Jubail, Yanbu or Riyadh, with occasional vacancies elsewhere, for example in the city of Jeddah.

Jubail, Eastern Province, on the Gulf Coast

• English for Trainee Operators
  • General English for trainee technicians and engineers at a large industrial training centre.
  • Average class 14 students.
  • Each teacher has his own group, taught five days a week for 5.5 hours daily.
  • Working hours 7.30 am to 4 pm.

Yanbu, in the Hijaz , on the Red Sea Coast

• Industrial College
  • General English for trainee technicians and engineers at an industrial college, with a considerable proportion of language-laboratory work..
  • Average class size 20 students.
  • Each teacher has two or more groups, five days a week for approximately 7.5 hours daily.
  • Working hours 7.15 am to 4 PM
  • In-house teaching materials, but some tests need to be prepared.

Riyadh, the Capital

• Industrial Company
  • Business English for management trainees of a large industrial company.
  • Small groups - as few as 2 students, about 6 on average.
  • Each teacher has groups, five days a week for approximately 6 hours daily.
  • Working hours 8 am to 4 PM · Business Objectives series and UCLES benchmark materials used, but some tests need to be prepared.
• Research Institution
  • General English for technical trainees at a prestigious research institution.
  • Average class size 14 students.
  • Each teacher has his own group, taught five days a week for 2 hours daily. (Other teaching elsewhere.)
  • Working hours 1 PM to 3 PM
  • Headway Intermediate books used, but some tests need to be prepared.
• Private English Academy
  • General and business English teaching at the European Centre.
  • Groups of 4 to 8 students from elementary up to intermediate levels.
  • Teachers work split shifts from 8.30 am to 11.30 and from 4 PM to 9.30 PM, but mornings are often free of teaching and are set aside for lesson preparation and marking. (Or there may be morning teaching elsewhere.)
  • Students are usually highly motivated, as they are private and fee-paying. They are awarded certificates accredited by the Ministry of Education on completion of each 30 hours part-time course.
  • Books used include the Headway and Reward series.
